The McWiggy Fundraiser 
 

During my battle with Breast Cancer I decided to organise a Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Care Scotland and Maggies Centres (in Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy), to raise as much money as possible for two charities that helped me.  I wanted to give something back....

So on September 29th 2007 I hosted The McWiggy Fundraiser!

Along with 2 of my friends, we undertook the task to lay on a Bar, a Buffet, a Disco, a Raffle and an Auction.  All in all we raised just over £4000, which was split three ways - approx £2000 to Breast Cancer Care Scotland, £1000 to Maggie's in Edinburgh and £1000 to Maggie's in Kirkcaldy!!

We all had a wonderful time!!

 Breast Cancer Care Scotland supplied us with Breast Cancer pins to sell and we discovered that there was already a Jilly Bear available, which we raffled!

Setting up the hall!  We had 12 tables set with varying shades of pink and green candles (the colours of the Charities), with sprinkles of confetti over the top of the tables....with floral decorations...pink lillies!!  Each table also had a flyer with information about the two charities as well as a Dedication List of people who had either battled and won their fight or sadly lost their fight against any form of cancer.

 

Some of the items in the Raffle and the Auction!....I wrote to many different companies asking if they would donate something for the Raffle/Auction and was also given many items from friends from all over the world! 

 

One of my friends who helped me organise it all and the guys that manned the bar for me!  Over £800 was raised on the bar alone!!  

 Some entered into the spirit of things and wore a wig....
 

And a great night was had by one and all!!
